Dustie’s Ghana Mission Trip And Container Project Blog

We are in need of a 40 foot shipping container that is sea worthy!  My daughter, Vanessa, has done a great job in collecting donations to send to Bamboi, Ghana, but our basement is overflowing with supplies and we need to get the donations into a container.

If you have a container that you would be willing to donate to our cause or will sell it to us for a good price, please contact us.  We are a part of a tax-deductible organization (Real Missions), so all donations will be tax deductible.

If you haven’t read our blog yet, my daughter and I are sending a container full of supplies to the poorest tribe in Ghana (The Mo Tribe).  We are including school supplies, soccer equipment, bikes, etc.   We visited the tribe in April 2008 and were shocked that the schools had nothing.  They literally had a room with some bench seats and a small table attached and black paint on one wall to use as a chalk board.  They didn’t have any books, maps, nothing!

I had one 12 year old boy (Obed) that helped me talk to the younger children the whole time we were there.  He saw me writing in my journal and the only thing he asked me for the whole week was one pen.  That trip touched us so much that we want to do something to make a difference in their lives.  Would you be willing to help us?  Do you know someone that may have access to a shipping container?  Could you make a tax deductible donation to help us with the cost of shipping?  If so, please make a check out to “Real Missions”; PO Box 1511; Maple Valley, WA  98038 or you can give online at http://reallifechurch.com/index.php?nid=25866&s=rs.  Please just note that it is for the “Ghana Container Fund”.  You may also go into any Key Bank and make a donation by specifying that it is for the “Ghana Container Fund”, it will not be tax deductible if you do it this way.

We still need to raise about $8500, which includes the cost of a shipping container.  If we can get one donated, then it will not cost as much.  My daughter has done many public presentations to let people know about this project.  She has been very successful in collecting donations of supplies, but it has been harder to raise the money for the shipping costs.  We were hoping to send the container a while ago, but we will continue until we complete the project.

If you know of any businesses that would like a tax deduction while helping a teenager to reach her goal of supplying a shipping container full of needed supplies to the poorest tribe in Ghana, please forward this information on to them.  Thank you so much for any help that you can be!  Together we can change the world!
